Riding to Explore is now in India!
A quest to the lakes of the Himalayas
After Peru, our two athletes are now in the Indus Valley with the ambition to ride their kitesurfs on lakes at an altitude over 5000 meters.
Due to the Covid 19 measures in Nepal, approaching the Himalayan mountain range through this country became impossible.
The unique alternative became clear: India! Our team of Indian nationals in Toulouse and in India supported Armelle and Martin
in getting their visas and our client Air France provided logistics support from Toulouse.
The team of three including the cameraman started their acclimatization in Leh valley at an altitude of 3600 meters.
Starting from the 20th of October, following their transfer to Markha, 10 days of trekking will be needed to reach their objective:
a lake at an altitude of 5450 meters! Yet another world first!
In total the expedition will last until the 5th of November and we expect the team to be safely back home on the 6th.
22 days of an extreme mission with the intention to raise awareness about melting glacier and the risk of privatization of water resources.
